Held every three years in Dusseldorf, Germany, since its debut in 1966, EuroShop has developed into Europe’s largest trade show for retail interiors. With more than 1,900 exhibitors covering over a million square feet of exhibit space in 15 exhibition halls, EuroShop 2008: The Global Retail Trade Fair was everything for retailing on a massive scale. Organized by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH in cooperation with EHI Retail Institute, the show attracted 104,000 trade attendees to see the latest in store fixtures, lighting, architecture and retail design, refrigeration and other store equipment, visual merchandising, sales promotion, and P-O-S marketing as well as information and security technology and exhibit booth construction and design. The show is international in scope, with 54 percent of exhibitors and 58 percent of attendees this year coming from outside of Germany. On the show floor, 49 countries were represented, including 62 U.S.-based exhibitors. Attendees represented 90 countries, with 3,600 U.S. and Canadian visitors.
