FTC Green Guides

In the U.S., the Federal Trade Commission regulates marketing claims, including environmental marketing claims. The agency can bring law enforcement claims against companies that make false or misleading claims. The agency has published a series of environmental marketing guides popularly known as the FTC Green Guides. The agency is expected to update its Green Guides in 2009.
