Announcing
a "Call for Entries" for NASFM's
Retail Design Awards 2002 Competition
Hollywood,
FLEnter your store, shop, or store fixture in NASFM's
Retail Design Awards 2002 Competition. Celebrating its 31st
anniversary, the NASFM Retail Design Awards is the largest and
longest-running retail design competition of its kind, and the
only one that recognizes individual store fixture design and
manufacturing. Award winners receive coverage in a special supplement
produced by Display & Design Ideas, the Presenting Sponsor of
NASFM's Retail Design Awards, online coverage on www.nasfm.org,
and exposure in other leading trade press. Crystal awards and
certificates will be presented on April 18 during a reception
following the close of the first day of GlobalShop.
Entries
may be submitted by retailers, designers, architects, and store
fixture manufacturers for projects completed between Jan. 1
and Dec. 31, 2001. Projects are judged by a panel of retail
designers, visual merchandisers, and design editors. Awards
are based on excellence in design, originality in the use of
space and fixtures, and quality in executing the concept. Top
honors are awarded to one "Fixture of the Year" and
one "Store of the Year." Grand prizes and outstanding
merits will be designated in each store or fixturing category.
Each entry will automatically be considered for a special merit
for outstanding store fixtures.
Entries
may be submitted for new or remodeled department stores, shops,
specialty stores, outlet stores, service retailers, convenience
or grocery stores, food retailers, restaurants, foodservice
establishments, and in-store e-tailing/interactive sites. Deadlines
for entries are Dec. 14, 2001 (early bird); Jan. 15, 2002 (final).

NASFM
is an international, not-for-profit association representing
the store fixture manufacturing industry since 1956. The association's
membership includes more than 450 regular member companies operating
over 800 plants and employing more than 75,000 people worldwide;
an additional 200 industry suppliers are associate members.
NASFM members manufacture an estimated 85% of all store fixtures
produced in North America, and the 100 largest North American
store fixture manufacturers are NASFM members. The typical NASFM
member employs 85 people, and generates revenues in excess of
$10 million per year.
