The NADI Show 2007 A Hit With Retailers
2008 Show Set for December 10–12
Hollywood, Fla. (December 20, 2007)—When 22 New York retail design and display showrooms opened their doors for the new NADI Show earlier this month, they provided retailers with every bit of new inspiration and fresh ideas that had been promised.

The NADI Show 2007, organized by the National Association of Display Industries, set a unique stage for retailers, visual merchandisers and designers to see and share new, innovative ideas. The show celebrated design and offered multiple opportunities and platforms for learning and inspiration.

Scott Devine, Lord & Taylor’s vice president of visual merchandising, told WWD (www.wwd.com): “We were impressed by the continued mix of fashion and interior design trends which were evident in both mannequins and fixtures this year.”

WWD added that the show was “an easier–to–navigate market, a higher quality assemblage of vendors and strong attendance by retailers around the world, including Apple, Nordstrom, Target, Woolworths of South Africa, Macy’s and Kohl’s.”

“The reaction to this year’s changes has been overwhelming,” said NADI President Bob Rosean. “Retailers across the board felt we were more focused and our presentations were more inspiring than in the past.”

Retailers particularly enjoyed the loft environments. “While we expanded the showrooms from 17 to 22 this year,” Rosean said, “we look forward to even more showroom loft presentations next year.” The 2008 NADI Show is scheduled for December 10–12.
“This was a condensed market. It was focused and edited, and that’s a good thing,“ Bill Herbst, Saks Fifth Avenue’s senior vice president of construction planning, design and visual, told WWD.

Andrew Shannon, vice president and creative director of women’s wear chain J.Jill, told WGSN that he found the show very well put together and the layout of the showrooms easy to use.

The NADI Show headquarters at Cedar Lake Theater provided retailers with a place to gather and network, as well as to attend two NADI Shoptalk events addressing sustainable retailing and design trends, and Bazel Schmazel, an art event benefiting ACRIA (AIDS Community Research Initiative of America).

Thirty leading companies participated in The NADI Show, either through a showroom presentation or as a sponsor of NADI Show events. Participating showrooms included: Adel Rootstein Mannequins, Alpha Display, Alu, Apogee USA, Architectural Systems, B&N Industries, Bernstein Display, DK Display Corp., Elevations, Goldsmith, JP Metal America Inc., Holiday Foliage, Leo Prager, Lifestyle, Look, Mondo Mannequins/Sellutions by Econoco, Patina–V, Ralph Pucci, Siegel & Stockman, Trimco, Universal Display & Design, and Visual Merchandising International. Sponsors included: Alpha Display, Fusion Specialties Inc., Hera Lighting, Moss, Meisel, Rose Displays, Stylmark, and Trimco. VM+SD is the show’s media sponsor and publisher of the official NADI Show Guide.
