Gerdeman to Give CCAD Commencement Address
April 30, 2008 — Denny Gerdeman, principal and co-founder of Columbus, Ohio-based branding and retail design firm Chute Gerdeman Retail, has been invited to present the Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) commencement address.
The commencement ceremony will take place May 10 at 10 a.m. at the Ohio Theatre. In his address, directed towards an audience of approximately 1200, Gerdeman will focus on the powerful nature of design and the capacity of graduating seniors to go out and shape the world.
CCAD is one of the largest and oldest private art and design colleges in the U.S. CCAD President Dennison W. Griffith, in extending the invitation to Gerdeman, recognized his “outstanding knowledge of our business and the creative economy, as well as the attributes of curiosity, hard work, and design sensibilities.”
Since 1989, Chute Gerdeman Retail, based in Columbus, Ohio, has created retail brands, identities, and environments. The firm’s client list includes: Walt Disney Imagineering, Target, Levi Strauss, Limited Too, Kohl’s, Shopko, Sheetz, Lowe’s, Smithsonian, Hamleys, Einstein Brothers Café, KFC (Japan), Hanesbrands Inc., Pepsi-Cola, Ross-Simons, Nationwide Arena, Marriott Vacation Club International, Starwood, and Wolverine.
