Annual competition, now in its 14th year, open to college-level students involved in retail planning, visual merchandising, store design, and branding programs. Students may enter in one of two categories, visual merchandising design or store planning design. Prizes include grants to students and schools.  

December 15, 2009 

Early bird deadline for the A.R.E. Design Awards, the leading retail design competition and the only competition that recognizes store fixtures, visual presentations, and overall store and department design. Judges award over 60 awards in various retail categories.

Early bird deadline for the A.R.E. Sustainability Awards, the only competition focused on sustainable retail design. Entries are judged by a multidisciplinary panel on innovation in design, integration, and benchmarks. While the highest honors go to projects with comprehensive sustainability programs that exhibit good design, judges also award special commendations for extremely innovative elements.
