DAVACO Joins the U.S. Green Building Council

April 30, 2008 — Dallas, Texas-based retail services provider DAVACO has joined the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Focused on the advancement of green building, the council provides education, advocacy, and other types of support for environmental design, construction, and operation of buildings. The USGBC is also responsible for the development and accreditation of the LEED® Rating System™(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), which is the national benchmark for high-performance green building. According to the USGBC, green building increases productivity, improves health, conserves the earth’s resources, and decreases operations and maintenance costs. The organization has over 8,000 member organizations, representing designers, builders, owners, engineers, manufacturers, and other professionals. For more information, visit the council’s website at www.usgbc.org.

In addition to partnering with retail clients to execute green programs, DAVACO has also established an internal green program at the company’s corporate headquarters. The committee, known as the “Green Team”, educates employees on recycling, reducing consumption, reusing materials, and other ways to be responsibly green.

DAVACO specializes in the management and execution of in-store merchandising, shop-in-shops and high-volume rollouts, retrofits, resets, and new stores. Other services include fixture and graphics installations, hard- and soft-line merchandising, site and marketing surveys, logistics and consolidation, and design services.
