July 22, 2008 — DAVACO, the Dallas-based national provider of retail services, has named Jerry Zemanski director of cost management. In this role, Zemanski oversees all aspects of the cost management process, including vendor relations, sub-contractor evaluations and qualifications, plan distribution, and project management pricing support. He reports to Mike Murray, senior vice president of operations.

“We are pleased to have Jerry lead our cost management department and add another level of expertise to this team,” said Murray. “He joins us with over ten years of estimating and project management experience that will certainly benefit our retail clients as we continue to provide strategic planning that offers the best costing options for executing national programs at the store level.”

Zemanski was most recently employed with Gray Construction as senior estimator, where he was responsible for the proposal process of large-scale design-build programs, which included estimating, design, scheduling, accounting and project management. Prior to that, he was employed with Kajima Construction Services as a senior estimator. Zemanski also formerly held the position of estimator for DAVACO. Zemanski earned an associate’s degree in construction management from North Lake College. He previously served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and was honored with two achievement medals for outstanding service as an engineer and project manager.
