Little Design Wins Chain Store Age Award

April 11, 2008 — This year G by GUESS, the newest store format in GUESS? Inc.'s expanding retail portfolio, took top honors in Chain Store Age magazine's annual Retail Store of the Year competition. Design firm Little's Costa Mesa, Calif. team partnered with GUESS? Inc. to roll out 32 G by GUESS stores throughout the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico in an expedited 10-month timeframe in 2007. Judges cited the store's appeal to its fashion-forward, trend-savvy target audience of men and women aged 17-26.

Notable design features include a solid black oversized exterior mall door, twinkling pin-light fixtures, a planked-wood runway, and comfortable furnishings used to create a lounge-like atmosphere. The store also won praise for its sexy-cool California vibe. This marks the 26th year Chain Store Age has gone in search of the best in retail design. Exceptional stores are recognized across a range of categories – taking design objectives, unique elements, challenges and store size into consideration. G by GUESS placed first in the Soft Lines (less than 5,000- sq.- ft. category) and Store Exterior categories, then ultimately went on to be named overall Store of the Year.
