Mayflower Agents Excel in Local Communities

May 14, 2008 — Select Van & Storage, an agent of Fenton, Mo.-based logistics specialist Mayflower Transit, teamed with local organizations in Des Moines, Iowa, for a household-items drive to benefit victims of domestic violence. Select filled two Mayflower trucks with donated items such as furniture, small appliances, pots and pans, lamps, and linens and then transported them to the Free Store, a private nonprofit organization that provides free furnishings, supplies, and other items to help victims of domestic violence when they leave the shelter. For more information on the event, visit the Children & Families of Iowa’s Family Violence Center’s Web site at www.cfiowa.org.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Bryan, Texas, named Mayflower agent Conlee-Garrett Moving & Storage as the mid-size business winner of the 2008 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. Out of 26 local nominations, Conlee-Garrett stood out in the crowd as the top company exemplifying the BBB mission of ethical business practices.
