Dec. 10, 2008 — William B. Meyer Inc., an agent for
United Van Lines LLC, has announced the acquisition of PCWorldwide to address the growing needs and concerns for the recycling and remarketing of technology assets. PCWorldwide, based in Manchester, Conn., is a full-service information technology asset management and recovery company that specializes in life cycle services for electronics.
William B. Meyer Inc. is a technology-driven company and obtaining PCWorldwide is a natural step in its evolution. This expansion enables the company to provide services which include the deployment of new computer equipment, retirement of used equipment, and processing of lease returns. The company also provides an auditable process for data security and environmental compliance. Additional services include onsite inventory, disconnects/reconnects, desktop installs, and internal and external equipment moves. Another highlight is web-based reporting for all services, which can be tailored to the needs of each client. The goal is to minimize client costs through collaborative recycling and resale programs.
“We take pride in developing logistics solutions that add value. Acquiring PCWorldwide is a strategic and exciting move for William B. Meyer Inc. It ensures that we can securely fulfill each step of our client’s technology life cycle,” said Tom Gillon, president of the company.
