Inventory Control Specialist

Job Summary: Lead the Receiving department and the Inventory Material handlers while managing the company's inventory system.

Duties:
·Create and insure the maintenance of the Inventory department's policies and procedures, and to update as required by financial, quality, and scheduling imperatives.
·Train and direct the Inventory team members in their specified job duties.
·Communicate and train all team members of the company on the Inventory department's policies and procedures. Follow up to insure effective comprehension.
·Interview prospective team members to insure hiring of high quality personnel.
·Meet with and develop Inventory team members weekly. Set objectives for continuous improvement.
·Set up and conduct accurate physical inventories on a timely basis.
·Reduce materials from inventory.
·Give performance reviews to the Inventory team members on an appropriate and timely basis.

Responsibilities:
·Accuracy of the inventory levels.
·Maintain effective functioning levels of the Receiving department and the Inventory Material Handlers.
·Insure accurate and timely receival of materials.
·Insure accurate and timely delivery of inventoried materials to internal and external customers.
·Maintain a professional image to internal and external customers.
·Create and maintain a positive work environment for the Inventory and Receiving departments.
·Set a good example by following procedures correctly, by maintaining an excellent attendance record, and by demonstrating good oral and written communication skills.

Specifications:
·Must be detail oriented.
·Demonstrated leadership abilities.
·Team environment work ethic.
·Good oral and written communication skills.
·Above average computer skills-knowledge of Windows a plus.
·Ability to manage separate locations.
·High School diploma with at least 5 years of experience in the materials distribution field.

Job Relationships:
·Report directly to Manufacturing Manager.
·Work closely with the Production, Shipping, Finishing, Purchasing, and Engineering departments as well as the Project Managers.

Authority:
·Develop and enforce departmental procedures and policies.
·Participates in the hire and/or termination of team members assigned to Inventory and Receiving departments.
