Shipping Supervisor
Job Summary: Supervises the warehousing and shipping of the company's product to assure timely delivery of customer orders.
Duties:
·Assures daily on-time delivery, pick-up, and movement of the company's product.
·Staffs the department according to the daily needs.
·Provides necessary equipment to the staff as needed.
·Establishes loading goals based on the scope of the project.
·Budgets time to provide management at all facilities.
·Daily prioritizes the department's tasks.
·Other duties which may be assigned on an as-required basis.
Responsibilities:
·Communicates effectively to the department the daily needs for product movement.
·Demonstrates a professional attitude in approaching work assignments.
·Creates a positive, self-motivated atmosphere in a team environment.
·Follows procedures in company handbook and other documents, and assures others in the department do also.
·Possesses and uses good leadership and listening skills.
·Give the team members the appropriate amount of attention to their needs.
Specifications:
·Able to motivate and lead a team to reach a goal.
·Able to solve problems quickly and efficiently, turning the problems into opportunities.
·Understands the needs of both internal and external customers.
·Possesses good phone presence.
·Has good computer skills and is willing to learn as needed.
·Able to stay calm in times of crisis management.
·Able to perform and understand all manual tasks necessary to the department.
·High school diploma or equivalent.
Job Relationships:
·Reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.
·Internally works close with project managers, the traffic coordinator, team leaders, and supervisors.
·Externally works closely with customers and vendors.
Authority:
·Creates purchase orders for shipment of product and approved capital equipment.
·Hires and/or terminates employees.
·Recommends purchase of capital equipment
